TDP Begins its Three-day “Mahanadu” Convention


Tirupati: Telugu Desham Party (TDP) on Friday began its three-day “Mahanadu” (mega-convention) in the shrine town of Tirupati.

Party workers and leaders from both states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have arrived in massive numbers to participate in the convention. The TDP is the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh and is in opposition in neighbouring Telangana.

N Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Prasesh and the president of TDP inaugurated the convention by hoisting the flag.

“More than 30.000 leaders and cadres from both the states would take participation in the discussion on various developments, political and general resolutions”, said Kala Venkata Rao, President, Andhra Pradesh TDP unit.

“The convention is expected to be witnessed by more than 30.000 people though the food arrangements have been made for 30.000 people. Thus our cooks are ready to prepare for the marginal crowd also”, he added.

Nara Lokesh, Son of N Chandrababu Naidu and who is also the General Secretary of the Party, was also seen supervising the arrangements. The streets of Tirupati were seen buzzed with the Yellow flag of the TDP.

Meanwhile the photo exhibition on the party founder NT Rama Rao was held.
