Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday presented the holy Venkanna saree- traditional presentation of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam comprising of a saree, Kumkum, pasupu and bangle- to Godess Krishnamma.
The presentation was made as part of the offering to Lord Venkateswara’s Krishna pushkaram festival which began on Friday in the early hours.
The Chief Minister along with ministers and family members took the holy bath at Durga ghat friday morning and later presented the Venkanna Saree to River Goddess Krishnamma.
A Team of TTD officials led by JEO Sri K S Sreenivasa Raju and others had brought the holy Venkanna Saree from Tirumala for the event.
TTD had set up a model Srivari temple at Vijayawada for sake of devotees at the PWD grounds of Vijayawada where daily rituals as performed at Tirumala temple is also being conducted as per Agama shastras. TTD is also made arrangements for distribution of Anna Prasadam for nearly one lakh persons daily. TTD will also present Venkanna Arati every day in the evening after it is taken in a procession from the model temple to Durga ghat every day.
