The Gokulasthami festival, heralding the birth of Sri Krishna will be performed at the Srivari Temple on August 25th.
The festival, special prayers and pujas for Sri Krishna will be conducted at the Bangaru Vakili from 8pm-10.30pm.
Next day Utlotsavam is conducted at Srivari Temple on August 26th wherein utsava idols of Sri Malayappa swamy and Sri Krishna will be taken out on golden vahanas on the mada streets with youth dancing and regaling. As part of the Utlotsavam the youth will form human towers on the street and compete to break the pot full of butter hanging high above to mark the Krishna’s birth day.
To facilitate the event and the Gokulashtami festival the TTD has suspended the Arjita sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Brahmotsavam, Unjal seva, Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on August 26 to facilitate the Gokulashtami celebrations.
