The hill town of Tirumala, the abode of Lord Balaji is gearing up to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami with all religious fervour on Aug. 15.
TTD, the trust that manages the richest Hindu temple, is organizing special events and poojas on the occasion. In this year’s fest, a special abhishekam will be performed in Gogarbham Dam gardens to Kaliya Mardana Krishna Statue followed by Utlotsavam between 11 am and 1 pm.
Asthanam will be observed in Tirumala temple on August 15 between 8 pm and 10 pm and Utlotsavam on August 16 in Tirumala with religious ecstasy.
Elaborate arrangements and decorations are also made for the festival.
