Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) celebrated “Sri Rama Navami” with religious fervor in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Friday. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple to offer prayers and to witness the festival procession and rituals.
The rituals began with temple priests performing a Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestial bath) to processional deities of lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari Temple in the morning.
Later, the processional deity of lord Sri Rama was taken on a procession in the four mada streets on he Hanumantha Vahanam. Later on their return to the temple, the temple priests performed special rituals. The festival will conclude with pundits reading out “Sri Rama Jananam” in Sri Rama Navami Asthanam, near Bangaru Vakili in the night at around 10pm.
The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Ramanavami day and cancelled Vasanthotsavam even on Sri Rama Pattabhishekam following special rituals on these two auspicious days.
