Pasurams are Nothhing But Simplified Texts of Vedas: Tirupati Seers

The Alwar Divya Prabandhas also known as Pasurams are simplified versions of  Vedic texts in Tamil. Penned by the twelve Alwars, Pasurams are directives for the wellbeing of the humanity,  said, HH Pedda Jiyangar and Chinna Jiyangar, the seers of Tirumala, at the Divya Prabandha Parayana Ghosti Convention held at
Asthana Mandapam at Tirumala on Monday.

Speaking on this occasion, the pontiffs of Tirumala said that this year TTD is observing Ramanuja Sahasrabdi in a big way in commemoration of the Millennium Birth Anniversary of the Saint Sri Ramanujacharya. “Today I appreciate the temple management for taking up the recitation of Nalayira Divya Prabandha Parayanam in a big way inviting all the Parayanamdars hailing from 106 Divya Desams across the country”, they said.

Later in his speech Tirumala Joint Executive Officer KS Sreenivasa Raju said that “Pasurams are the essence of Vedas and there is a need to sustain the legacy of Pasura Parayanam for next generations.”

The children should be trained in Divya Prabandha Parayanam recitation from school level so as to sustain the Kainkaryams for ever and ever. “I also appeal the project to see that all the forewords written by stalwarts on Divya Prabandha Parayanam be complied and brought out in the form of a book for the sake of future generations,” said Vedic VC.
